The housing market is taking a dive and real estate sales nationwide are flat or falling still. The moving industry relies upon a certain percentage of America relocating each year in order to sustain the existing number of companies in the market plus the inevitable new moving companies looking to enter the industry. The last two years may actually have been the worst on record with the number of scam moving companies infesting the industry and the increased cost of running what is essentially a trucking and transport company crippled by rising prices.
Rising fuel, insurance and labor costs plus the decrease in home sales has caused a purge of less stable moving service providers and things are actually getting better for reliable moving companies but there are still a great many hurdles.
